Na there is a reason millions and millions of 40 cal handguns have been produced and purchased.
The 40 fills the middle between 9 and 45. Those who want a small carry pistol but feel 9mm is to "small" buy a 40.
I believe the 40 fills a specific barrier penetration role for LE as well.
