Umm... not by law-abiding citizens. In Tennessee (and nearly everywhere else), shooting someone for
either reason is a crime, which makes the shooter a criminal, and so... not a "good guy."
Preventing future crimes is
never a legal justification for deadly force. It's irresponsible, IMHO, to suggest that it might be; not to mention that, as is often pointed out, the Internet is forever, and this is exactly the kind of comment that could come back and bite you.
