I'm posting about the 30 Ackley mag #2 which has a longer body than the 30 Ackley mag #1.


annealing isn't going to help. the length of the 300mag body is longer and without changing the shoulder angle first all your going to do is what your experiencing. Nothing in that die will support those shoulder from the inside as your trying to shorten that case body by .134" so it's going to push that back into the existing shoulders or little bulge at the shoulder/case body etc. If you look at the shoulder angle on the 300 H&H it's only 8 degree and that form in for new shoulders.
