I think it's safe to say it's best to have all your papers with you. There is an ordinance in effect (I think it has a chance of being rendered moot within the next 2 years or so) that requires ALL GUNS kept in Chicago be registered and on file with the CPD. As far as moving guns in from another state, I'm not too sure. I've read the ordinance a thousand times and it's still Hebrew. They are fighting the FOID system for out-of-towners in court right now, but currently you will have to possess one and they will NOT ISSUE if you do not have a current valid IL driver's license.

I swear, livestock get treated with more respect out here.
