That's terrific! Going to pick up my "new" G17 @ Glock/Smyrna on Monday.
Many moons ago, I took my first Glock, a G21, into Glock/Smyrna to have night sights installed. When the armorer came back out with my G21, he cautioned me brutally about overoiling my Glock. Like some of those geniuses at the L A Sheriff's office, I had squirted oil into the little hole in the bottom of the slide.
The firing pin and extractor channels should be kept completely dry.
