I just got one, and I love it.
The recoil is definitely noticeable, but I don't find it painful. It doesn't seem as bad as my sp101 with .357mags. I can put 100 rounds through it without my hands tingling.
.45 is a big round, but it's pretty low pressure, so while it definitely has kick, it's not as snappy as a scaled up 9mm or .40 would be. Also, it has some pretty beefy springs which help to tame it a bit.
I posted a lot more of my thoughts about it right after I got it... it's somewhere in the first few pages of this sub-forum I imagine.
