I cheated and for my Rem 700 LTR, I went with Leupold QD on a two piece base. Not the stuff any sniper would want to be caught with, but I it was a compromise I was willing to accept.
One piece bases do increase stiffness but can stress the receiver if the receiver isn't to blue print spec. And y,es, this happens to factory guns like Remington. Two piece bases won't stress the receiver but aren't as stiff and if there is any stress, it's on the scope (because the receiver isn't allowing the scope to align and sit in the rings without stress). The world is full of compromise and so it's up to you.
