Did some more rounds. 180gr XTP with 31g 296, 1.610 overall. Looks to be the equal of the Remington factory loads as far as accuracy and about the same height. I guess I will go ahead and search out some more 180's and stay with the 296, I will try and juggle the the powder charge up and down just a little bit to see how it affects the accuracy. If I have done the math correctly I should be in the neighborhood of 1620-50 fps and with a 50 yard zero from 25-100 yards I should have no more drop than .9 inches that should make a reliable deer round for that range, or so I hope. Any more imput is appreciated, still courious about how much 296 some of you run with a 180 grain bullet. Thanks again.
