Bigger, not smaller...

Quote:
The Glock-36 is about as small a 45 acp as anyone needs. A single stack, officer's size grip with a four in barrel.

I don't think there is a market for anything smaller in a 45 platform.
I am actually looking for something a bit bigger than the G36, not smaller. Something the size of the G38 is what I was hoping for someday maybe...

As HighValleyRanch pointed out though, the G30 is similar in size to the G38, so it may be almost a a moot point. The G30 is wider than the G38, but for someone like me with big hands, thats a good thing. When looking at your three .45 options you see that:

The G38 .45GAP (which I started the post refering to) is 174mm x 127mm x 30mm, which is almost the same size as,
The G30 .45ACP, which is 172mm x 121mm x 32mm (a bit shorter and wider... Its called a subcompact by Glock instead of a compact, which is why I didnt look at it in detail).
The G36 .45ACP is 172mm x 121mm x 28.5mm which is a true subcompact.

My worry, which I will have to go to the gun shop to check, is that the 6mm (1/4 inch) difference in grip+mag will make it a bit more difficult to control accurately for my affore-mentioned large hands.
