Right after i posted my note, I removed the grip since it was
the only possible item holding the trigger group in...and it worked.

Trigger assembly dropped out and i proceeded with breaking down the shot gun.
I was over cautious since it was my neighbors gun and I never handled a pump before.

It appears the pump has more internal parts that i thought...or at least they have to allign propely.
Re-assembling the gun took more time than expected - about 20 minutes - Little room for error
