If you do decide to read it, keep the Rolaids handy. Of all the anti-gun propoganda that I have read, this is by far the most slanted, calculated and down right ignorant. In the article, the author paints Jeff Cooper as a racist, militia maniac because he helped found ISPC and advocates the God given right of self defense. There are other citations and quotes that have been carefully crafted to demonstrate that gun owners are a fanatic few that are into violent role playing. The authors even use the fact that a 14 year old boy won the junior division as a negative.
If one reads the report carefully, the real agenda of the report leeches out. It is stated both overtly and covertly that if IPSC becomes part of the Olympics, AMERICANS ...yes evil Americans, would have a definite and unfair advantage in the games. Why? America is a gun culture and those participants whose "enlightened" governments do not allow the private ownership of handguns will never be able to compete fairly.
This report is a piece of garbage. It is a wolf wrapped in sheep's clothing. It is far from being unbiased as an academic paper should be, even though it is presented as a scholarly study. The anti-American sentiments are very well vailed, but they are there.
