It's the 158gr bullet ahead of a 'standard' load that should consistently shoot to POA for that revolver.

Most of those revolvers were 'calibrated' for 158gr bullets, just like most .45 Colt (Long Colt) revolvers are 'calibrated' for 250gr bullets.

I have a S&W revolver that shoots exactly to POA with the 158gr bullets but shoots low with lighter bullets.
Just like I have several 45LC revolvers that shoot low with anything lighter than 250gr, but are exactly to POA with 250gr.

Any decent 'standard pressure' (not +P) wadcutter or round/flat nose lead bullet should shoot to POA for your Colt.
