There were few times I felt the need for a 3" 20 gauge load, and that was back when lead was legal for waterfowl and we were hunting geese in ND. Even a 2-3/4" 1oz load, while great for wild pheasant, really isn't necessary for too much unless turkey and deer are included. For upland birds and clay games the basic loadings work really well.
