Personally, having given my own defensive firearm classes, I would be fearful of any class that didn't have one instructor for each two students. And that is if the students were pre screened for safe gun handling skills prior to attending.

My experience has been that there are just to many issues that put my life in danger much less my students.

One student un holstered behind the line. Another I caught painting fellow students with his muzzle (not purposely). I'm sure other problems have happened that went undetected.

These days its private training with pre screened clients only.

Pay the extra money if needed to attend the school with the most INSTRUCTORS per student and who's safety record is the best. It would suck to be shot trying to learn how to survive a shootout without getting shot.
