Total strike out as far as animals on the ground, but I got to hunt, got away from the blackberry (satan's handcuff...), hung out with people I like, sipped a little of the good stuff at night by a big campfire. I could whine about it, but it would be a bunch of BS to say it wasn't a good year.

Bowhunting elk this year, I ended up in a fog bank. Elk so close to me I could hear them chewing. Puff of wind cleared the fog enough to see at the same time it pushed my scent to them, so it was a mad stampede. One nice bull in the group, but I would have taken a cow no problem.
