No implication was intended ... or needed; Ayoob simply believes firing pin locks are a necessity. Here is an entire article in which Ayoob writes specifically about the necessity of firing pin locks to make 1911s "drop safe."

I happen to agree with Johnny (and you) rather than Ayoob about the safety of 1911s without firing pin locks.
