It would seem likely that the recall is related to the slam-fire-from-the-bolt-release problem occuring in some rifles, with some commercial ammunition.
Maybe it's something else, but I doubt it.
Bushmaster isn't saying---and it's a little annoying. I don't much like the idea of shipping the whole rifle to Maine for a firing pin spring replacement----especially since I can't get mine to flip out on soft primers, no matter how hard I try.
Took her out Sunday, daringly ignoring the Cautionary Legalese and got my round count total to 900 with no malfunction (or bolt/carrier lubrication). Ammunition was reloads on PMC and Radway Green cases, using Remington Benchrest primers. No doubles, no triples, no nothing.
