As a former NJ resident, I know the pain of one hand gun a month, Firearms ID card, pistol permit madness. I also know that anything under $100 each is suitable for a non-shootable collection, a paperweight, etc.
I used to save my money towards an end goal, say $600, and halfway to three quarters there, apply for a permit or three or five. Before the one a month lunacy of course. In the long run, quality pays for itself. My Rugers, Smiths and the like were better designed and executed machines than any $100 throwaway.
Get out while you can!
