In general, rifles that chamber for the .22-250 have a twist rate that doesn't bode well for extremely light nor heavy bullets. That's why the general consensus is 50 to maybe low 60 grainers work best.

I'm still happily searching for the absolute best pet load in my rifle. So far, Reloader 15, or 7 pushing a 52gr. Sierra MatchKing has provided good results. I'm still fine tuning the powder load.

My next powder is Reloader 10x. This has JUST come out by Alliant. They claim that the powder is specifically designed for .22-250 and .223 cartridges. Soon, I'll find out if it's the cat's meow...
