I believe it was Sun-Tzu who said that those who fail to plan, plan to fail. I'm sure those are not the exact words, but the philosophy is there.

A plan is necessary in order to have your mission succeed. There is of course a good element of luck that might go along with it, but I don't count on luck, I make my own.
