I have one and consider it indispensible for dry fire and home holster practice, along with allowing me to get action photos from better angles than we could otherwise safely do. I do not use it during disarm/retention practice since we do have blue guns and those are less apt to tear your hands up than a real firearm is -- plus they weigh less and thus hurt less when they drop on your foot without warning.
It's a good investment.
Oh, doesn't cushion the firing pin. If you're one of those folks who's sure that normal dry firing sans a dummy round will shatter the metal, this gadget isn't for you. I'm not inclined to worry about it with modern guns, so I think this little doodlehickey is a wonderful addition to the toolkit.
