For outdoor use exclusively, I would lean towards the revolver. HOWEVER, assuming those are your only two options, I would probably go for the Couger. At the price point you list, I would feel more comfortable with a used Ruger or Smith and Wesson revolver- the quality just seems to be that much better. Combined with the fact that this will be primarily a self defense weapon, I think you are better suited getting the Couger. As for holsters, AFAIK any holster that fits the Beretta px4 should fit, since they are largely the same weapon.
