I was getting poor ignition (detonation?) with a light load of H380 and e-mailed Hodgdon for help; they suggested I try Federal primers (hotter, I guess). I am wondering, would Federal magnum primers be even better to get the charge going? Would there be any disadvantage? My original problem was that I would hear the primer detonate and then, a split second later, would hear the main charge go off, (about 10% of the time).
