I don't know if that would be thick enough to work, cheap to try, though.
There was once a little device called a Tap-Check that would form gas checks out of aluminum can stock. Beer to bullets. They also made the Tap-Cap to make percussion caps. Don't know what they suggested for priming compound. As you might expect, I don't remember the maker and can't find them in any of several Handloader's Digests.
There is the Venture Soft Gas Check, just a sheet of high-temperature wax to cookie-cut over the case mouth and form a wax wad. Lots of black powder shooters use sheets of beeswax that way. Velocities are low, of course
