Murdock - The book doesn't mention when the ejector rod was changed - indeed, doesn't mention any similar types of small changes over the 1915 to 1942 period, except for serrated front and rear tangs being introduced on the target models around 1923.

The section on grips says the walnut grips with no medallions were used on square butt models only from about 1920 to 1929, so the latter part of that period is certainly consistent with the approximate date based on your serial number.
