I've been told by more experienced guys than me that to get the best accuracy out of my Vanguard, I need to run 180 grain bullets. I tested some reloads yesterday with 178 grain A-Max bullets (it was my first, starting charge for this combination) with 74 grains of H4831SC, Remington brass, and a CCI Magnum primer... first group was bad (it was me, I'd forgotten about all that wonderful recoil)... second group, all went in one hole (it was a rough one, a cloverleaf) ... so I think I'm done... first time was a charm. Now to work up a load with a hunting bullet in it.
