As others have noted, if you must have a rail (and, though I'm no fan of rails per se, I just installed a light/laser unit on my newer Model 226 utilizing the rails that came with it), buy one that has them. The chances of a late model slide being compatible to the frame of an older SIG 226 is, as Hammerhead pointed out, slim at best.
