i have already posted on the dan wesson forum about this.

my last post to this site brought a wealth of information, so i will try my luck again.
i recently purchased this gun, it took awhile to determine exactly what it was
my questions are, why DW made these guns, ie contract, customs, post office etc, the gun has the same frame, cylinder (except it will only chamber 38spl), barrel as the same size 357. serial #2402xx.
this leads me to speculate that a government dept would only use 38's? how many were made?
how rare? i have yet to meet someone who has seen one.
my search of the net resulted in very little info.
the DW forum is trying to ad information to their archives, so i thought i would try here.
