I would say that constitutes an excuse...

I would challenge you to prove your theory. I find it hard to believe that multiple completely innocent people have been wrongfully convicted of felonies, having committed no crime themselves, only having been in the "wrong place at the wrong time".

No offense, but that sounds like hogwash to me.
