The only modification I've made to my Glock 20 is the factory night sights, three dots, took a little getting used to but they work just fine. I can see that somebody who was used to a different style of rear sight would get a little mixed up, in which case, using the Sharpie or a different rear is the way to go. In the end, do what works for you, it might take some trial & error.
