They don't "suck". I used to only shoot .40 years ago.

Now I only shoot 9mm and .45 they're my favorites.

So, they're better things out there than .40's muzzle flip. But if you want to get used to .40, and you can and eventually will. Then it isn't a problem. I personally believe it costs more to get used to a .40 than a .45 or 9mm. That muzzle flip is nasty and unnecessary to me now.
