Mossberg 835 is an awesome pump. Its all I use for hunting these days. and a day of skeet every now and then too. Swings and points really well for me. Fairly light. the Action is smooth as silk. And, it patterns better than any shotgun I own. I have a browning BPS pump 10ga to that is pretty sweet. A 12ga bps would serve you well
