i'm not SKILLED at woodworking, I can pull it off but it's definitely "at'll do" woodworking lol. I actually found one on craigslist, a home made one, and I'm gonna modify it a bit.
It has thin plexiglass on it right now which i'm going to be replacing with 1/2" lexan also gonna paint it to look a bit nicer, maybe just stain and some gloss though....
as far as that shelf i linked too, I tore apart some pallets at work and started making it, so far its crooked and not a masterpiece by any means, but it has a homemade country kinda look to it which i like. I just have to finish cutting my pieces and i wanna stain it. right now its cedar so very bright I'll take pictures when I'm done.
and i've seen a couple neat little hide-away shelves, i have to consider though whether or not its somethign my toddler can easily get to. I saw a mantle clock that would be perfect but too easy for the munchkin to get at.
