Pushing a bullet back into the case does raise pressures and is responsible for some Kabooms. If you push back a bullet in a .40 by .10 " you will double the pressure from 35,000 to 70,000psi. A 45 is a bit better especially a steel frame gun, since the operating pressures are lower.
