Like so many "one-uppers" here on the Firing Line, the "Kalifornia" poster felt it necessary to emphasize that the Mini-14 is not a target rifle. The OP specifically stated that he wanted to do "a bit of coyote hunting." The Mini-14 would suit very well for that, and the claims about its inaccuracy are overstated. I believe a Mini would do well for this shooter.

You apparently have zero experience with mini-14's than cause if you did then you would know that he was right on what he said.
I have had experience with more than a dozen and YET cant find one that is accurate enough to keep.........If the OP really wanted a good one for yotes and dont mind a semi auto than I would suggest an AR-15.......it will shoot circles around a mini 14.
