its very confusing though probably find the best answers on ar15.com
some barrels are chambered 5.56 some are 223 rem. lots of chambering options and offerings. competition from reamer or barrel manufactures.
some barrels marked 223rem/5.56 are reamed to be ok with both.
if in doubt get some gages and check for yourself.
