To justify using your CCW in Idaho there must be imminent danger of losing life OR limb (not the way it's written - I'm paraphrasing). Our CCW instructor was quite emphatic that loss of property does NOT justify using your CCW legally. One guy up in Coeur d'Alene recently lost his property (a sizeable amount of acreage) because he pointed (just pointed) a gun at trespassers.

HOWEVER - inside our homes is a different story. We are pretty much protected by law if we "off" an intruder.
