I love my Beretta 96. Reliable, accurate, and a pleasure to shoot. I would say the same for my 1911-9mm. If i had to pick for SD the 96 would be a clear winner. Hits a little harder and I think a DA pistol is superior for the job. I wouldnt want to be on the business end of either one. Accuracy advantage to the 9mm because of the pistol not the round.
