Yes, one course I took had an instructor that was an attorney who is licensed in several states, he covered in much detail about what can happen after a civilian shoots someone in self defense.

Of particular note, this attorney was of the opinion that we should be aware of the policial views of District Attorneys in areas we go to. even if you are completley justified when firing your weapon, an "anti-gun" DA could still make it very difficult for you. Be absolutely sure of your justification to fire, and be trained in the aftermath of doing so.
