I've built several types of targets. Spinners & shilouettes are my favs. 3/8 mild steel for 22,9mm,40,45 Hard steel, Truck frame, for 357 & 44 mag. If you put a forward tilt on the shooting surface, the bullet splash is deflected down, but I still stay 15yrd back. Heres a pic of my typical shooting range set-up. The shilouettes have 3" bulls that flip up.
