Former Guns & Ammo editor Bob Hutton helped design the .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer cartridge to set a world record for firing bullets at over 5,000 feet-per-second (fps). Unfortunately, the .50 grain projectile only reached 4,600 fps but its wacky name lives in infamy.
