Bill,
The old standby for bullseye matches would be 3.2 to 3.8 grains of Alliant Bullseye, or 4.0 grains of IMR 700-x behind a 185 or 200 grain swc lead bullet (45 acp). For 38 spl, 2.8 grains Bullseye behind a 158 gr swc lead. If these sound like light loads to anyone, we're not going after moose, we're just punching holes in paper. As for some decent silhouette loads, Bill I haven't tried that, so I can't help you there. Good luck!
