I'm probably not a good example for you since I don't get much range time. I tend to shoot 100-150 rounds per range trip, max of 200 if I take two guns.

So in theory if I had a new gun and made two range trips in the first month, I might shoot your 300 round count. Doesn't seem excessive to me.
