Mine is a savage 110. I also wanted to seat them long. I figured out that the only way to get one to slide in nice would be to alter the magazine. I hope to try some of the tipped tsx 150s so i can seat them long. Are you sure you didn't mean that you have a long throat? Long headspacing would be bad. I'm assuming you meant jump to your lands.
