Well..I fired about 150 of these rounds this evening. I had one stoppage (VERY unusual for my Norinco 1911A1). It was a last round from a suspect magazine, so I'll discount it..the round half-chambered at an angle and stopped the forward moving slide with the chamber half open..there is a distinct 'cut' in the cartridge's case about 1/8" from the case mouth where it caught the chamber throat.
The rounds chrono'd at between 846fps and 896fps, which was good..the Winchester loading manual gave the velocity as 915fps for 185gr JHP's over 6.2gr of WW231. To achieve Major velocity, I need at least 920fps, so I'll up the powder charge to 6.4grains, which should do it. I found the muzzle flip was a bit more than usual. My 'usual' load is a 200gr lead SWC over 5.7grains of WW231.
