the nickel plating is softer than the steel or carbide insert and won't hurt the dies. if you choose to shoot some factory loads the 41 mag Winchester 240 grain platinum tip is nickel plated brass. I think the Fedral cast core load is also nickel plated. the Winchester load was very accurate in a TC super 14
