As a note, how often you clean your gun is completely up to you. But personally I think every 50 rounds is a bit excessive. When I get home I take a rag and wipe down the internals, namely the slide, frame, and barrel, paying special attention to the breech face, feed ramp, and under the extractor as they get the most dirty. I re-lube and call it a day. I don't worry about cleaning the inside of the barrel for a good 300 rounds or so. But I only shoot FMJ and it doesn't get too dirty. As always, YMMV.
