While I agree with you that it is never fair and I personally find the notion of "
fair chase" to be rather ludicrous, the implementation of "fair chase" concepts into legal statutes has been significant in helping maintain animal populations. Here in the US, we have worked very hard to bring back many species that have suffered at the hands of uncontrolled overhunting.
