My opinion is different than some , I dont shoot a .223 ackley . I do shoot the 6 and 7 tcu cartridges that are based on a .223 and treat fire forming just like target shoting . I get pretty good groups fireforming and the practice for the basics wont hurt anybody . I wouldnt try zeroing a scope while fireforming and then going hunting with the finished loads , You could use fireforming to make sure you are on paper though.
