For a handgun to be legal for deer hunting here in Alabama, it just has to be centerfire and use an expanding bullet. So technically, my Davis Derringer .32 auto is legal though certainly not adequate. That's why during regular gun season that I hunt with my Ruger Blackhawk .45 on my hip.
